This Palm Sunday is a celebration of Jesus’ triumphant journey to Jerusalem surrounded by admiration and praise accompanied by followers that covered his path with their palm branches and garments. Their joy of having his presence was on full display, and as we look towards next Sunday, which will be the celebration of His resurrection, it gives us time to reflect on our walk with Him in faith.
It’s also a good time to look at why he was resurrected and why He offered everlasting life to all who choose to be in eternity with Him? The essence of which was and is grounded in love. Not a love that mortals easily vacillates between emotions described as love, with a certain amount of unpredictability. However, it is a love that is unchangeable, non-negotiable, without hidden agendas and stands the test of time, no matter how we make mistakes. So, as we celebrate this day and prepare for next Sunday to acknowledge Him across the world, it’s a good time to access and imitate His love that knows no barriers to loving us. His forgiveness is one of the cornerstones of love. Christ is the embodiment of such a Love! He forgives us, no matter how bad we think we messed up. He loves us beyond our flaws and weaknesses, and no greater comfort to have than knowing we’re loved. Happy Palm Sunday!
