LIFE AND DEATH
She then told me what was happening to her daughter, that she wasn’t breathing well on her own. She explained that the doctors had to place her daughter in an incubator, and to make matters worse, the incubator that housed her daughter wasn’t functioning properly. Unfortunately, this hospital didn’t have the resources to upgrade or even maintain its equipment.
My hairstylist said her daughter turned blue because she wasn’t getting sufficient oxygen. I was home at the time of the call but promptly decided that I would drive to the hospital
To see her daughter because I needed to pray for her. I had such an intense desire to pray for her.
When I arrived at the hospital, it was around 11 am. The hospital’s staff told me that visiting hours started at 4 pm, but being a woman of faith, I had no doubt that God would grant me early access. So, glory to God, I was given access and was ushered into her room. My hairstylist was in total shock when she saw me and uttered, “How did you get in since visiting hours are not until 4 pm?” I just smiled and then headed directly to the incubator, which housed her daughter.
The doctors had given my hairstylist the grave news that her daughter could die, but I understood that only God had the final say. I, therefore, counteracted that prognosis by saying, “No. She shall live and not die.” I placed one of my fingers through the incubator and touched her daughter. I remember clearly saying to the baby, “You shall not die, but you shall live and declare the works of the Lord.” I said, “Baby, listen to my voice and fight because you have to live.”
Shortly after I returned home, I received a telephone call from my hairstylist, who said, “A miracle had just taken place.” My hairstylist said that her daughter had made a miraculous recovery in the same incubator that was not working proficiently. The power of prayer was on full display because the possibility of her daughter’s death had turned right around to live instead. This occurred six years ago, and today, her daughter is active, vibrant, and still thriving. She is still the joy of my hairstylist’s answered prayer.
PRAYER IS A DECREE
1 Corinthians 13: 11 states, “When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I reasoned like a child, but when I became a man, I put away childhood behind me.” I didn’t have to wonder if it was God’s will for this child to be healed. I knew what the will of God was as stated in 3 John 2:2 “Beloved I wish above all things, that thou mayest prosper and be in good health, even as thy soul prospers.
So, we knew what the will of God was in this situation. God didn’t come to make us sick or to take away someone’s baby after they had carried that child for nine months. That’s just the will of the devil to steal, kill and destroy. With that being said, Jesus came to give us life and life more abundantly. So, I released life over her through the power of the Lord Jesus Christ.
